At New Road, we realise that for a child to reach their full educational potential, a high level of school attendance is essential. An ethos of high levels of attendance and punctuality is recognised and valued across our whole school community. We aim to work with parents/carers to ensure that all children registered at school attend every day and on time, unless the absence is unavoidable.

If you child is absent from school, please contact the school as soon as possible on the first and every subsequent day of absence before 9:30am by calling the office on 01733 204422.

Referral for Term Time Leave

Family holidays are no longer allowed to be taken during school term time.  Families who take their children out of school for holidays without permission may be fined.  However, there are situations where the Executive Headteacher may use discretion to authorise the absence in exceptional circumstances.

A parent must complete a term time only request form and submit this to the school office.  The request will be considered and you will receive a reply.

Please note, any parent who takes a child out of school for term time leave for 10 consecutive sessions (5 days) or more, not authorised by the school (under exceptional circumstances rule), may receive a Penalty Notice.

Support for attendance can be given by the following staff members:
